To promote our upcoming show (to benefit the Humane Society) at the Art Bar on Saturday, we were invited to perform live on the air on 99.3 FM in Columbia last night.  Let me tell you, we had no idea what we were walking into.  We really didn’t know what song to play since this was a Covers show that we’re doing.  We finally decided on what David Bowie song to cover on the air.  We really couldn’t do an LC song because of the lyrical content of them, so we picked the cover.  Of course, that also let the cat out of the bag that instead of paying tribute to Tykes With Guns, we’re now doing it as Tykes With Guns Butchering Bowie.

I gotta say, we pulled Queen Bitch off.  I botched a line in the middle, but I don’t think anyone even noticed.  In fact everyone said we sounded pretty good.  It was quite fun too.

I had a blast catching up with Katy from the Humane Society.  I haven’t seen her in years and it was fun to reconnect.

Now I’m looking forward to Saturday’s show a lot more.  We’ll be doing a set of semi obscure Bowie songs.  Most people probably won’t know ‘em, but that’s what will make it fun for us.

Yo. In the next couple of weeks, we’re planning to get some recording done. I think we’re just setting a small goal for right now of maybe 3 or so songs. Any suggestions of which ones? We’re doing this because it opens up all kinds of cool ideas in terms of promotion and videos and what not. I know it’s cliche for a band to have music, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. So yeah, use the comments to make suggestions of which 3 songs you think we should get down.

The LoveCrafts

will be performing flawlessly on Wednesday the 26th at the New Brookland Tavern

We need your help! The police just won’t leave us alone. On my way back from Taco Bell heading down Bush River Road, a porker pulled me over  just for the fuck of it. Why do I always get pulled in places where people i know can see. This time it was next door to my current employer. The pig never asked for my insurance card or registration. He also did not approach me until his two backup swine showed up. They then asked me to “step out of the car” and i got searched. “anything in the car” the cop snorted and I replied “Yeah, but you can’t find it!”. I am paraphrasing of course, I think my exact words were “no officer, but you are more than welcome to check”. Anywho, the cob roller gave me my license back just after telling the other two hogs “he’s clean”. You could see the disappoint in all of their faces. It must have been the same face that each of them saw on their parents face when their announced they were going to be cops. “bye fuckers” i screamed silently as I pulled away and i prepared to face all the questions from my employers who saw the whole thing.

What do you get when you combine two members of one of Columbia’s most notorious original rock bands, unfortunately known more for their “Rock & Roll life style,” than their music, and three members of Camden/Columbia’s most notorious original rock bands, fortunately known for combining, humor, performance art and rock/punk? Well, that’s a hard question to answer. However, you do get four extremely talented musicians with a plethora of crazy ideas! Hello, we are a new band called THE LOVECRAFTS, and we would like to take you along with us for each step of our musical journey in a way that no other musical group has ever done before! We want to let our fans be involved in each step of the way in terms of our creative process, music, & shows via computer technology and cameras. We intend to stream each band practice on our site for your viewing in order to let you get to know us better and to see/hear how we work together to make music.  As music fans we have always wondered how certain artist came up with a rhythm or what inspired the songs themselves, before they got into the hands of a producer and were fine tuned. We are giving the public the opportunity that we all have been robbed of, to see works in progress, completed tunes, personal conflicts, etc. That way you will never have to buy some book about us twenty years from now to speculate what we did or did not do behind closed doors!  We want to be honest and open with the public and let you be the fly on the wall at rehearsals and band meetings. Also, we intend to completely and utterly entertain you in the process via said live practices and our concerts and records! Meet THE LOVECRAFTS, because we want to meet you!
