We were invited to be a part of this awesome event that’s part fundraiser/part back to school bash. There’s going to be a lot of promo surrounding it from the organizers so it’s looking to be a pretty big deal. We were asked to participate and then we found out that the night was a bunch of locals playing tribute shows to their favorite bands. We don’t do a whole lot of covers so we originally thought about doing a Rick Springfield set. Then we remembered this one band that we saw about 10 years ago in Columbia. They were a badass local band that did everything that we want to do now. We actually cover a couple of their songs in our live set now (“Nuthugger” and “Liberia”). So, we’ll be a Tykes With Guns tribute band for the evening. We’ll be playing a complete set of songs that the LC has never played live before.
Anyway, here’s the full details straight from Katy. She rocks by the way…

Our next show will be announced shortly. This one will be a one time only special show with a setlist we’ve never played before. We’re looking forward to it. Also, it will not be @ New Brooland. Details coming soon!
That’s right, just check out the show report page to watch video of the ENTIRE show. All you have to do is click on the song title to be whisked away to the youtube video. All of the between song banter and heckling is included for your amusement. Hope you enjoy. If not, that’s ok too. You’ll just have to be left out of the loop when all your buddies are chatting about these vids around the water cooler tomorrow morning. You don’t want to be that guy do you?
First off, here’s the show report (at least my perspective) of the show last Saturday night at New Brookland. If you were there, feel free to add your comments on that page as well. We’d love to hear what you thought.
In addition, check this out…

I love seeing what people search for to find our page. The bottom ones are always the best. I mean, c’mon, “rick springfield live on a robot,” “richard bearboy on tagged.com,” “love crafts for him.” I especially like that last one, y’know, since I’m obsessed with porn. At least according to the Free Times! So yeah…

Thanks to the kids that came out to New Brookland Tavern last night. It was great to catch up with some old friends and to meet some new friends. Full show report coming soon, but to me (and a few folks I talked to), this was our best show yet. We may have been a little off in a few places, but this was the most fun one. Awesome.
Here ya go. If you’re a member of the mailing list, here’s a couple more rough mixes for you to critique. In addition to “How to Hide an Unwanted Erection,” we now present you “Bounce” and “Chicken & Porn.” If you’re not a member, here’s how to sign up…
If you’re already a member, just go the page and rock out with us! Here’s a nice fancy link.

Coming very soon to thelovecrafts.com will be a special section devoted to our quest to be the world’s premiere reality band. You’re going to get some insight into what it’s like being in a band. We’re going to publish direct email exchanges between band members, ex band members, industry types, bill collectors and more. You’ll see the kind of shit that leads to the inner workings of a 5 star rock and roll machine. I hope you’re ready to delve into interband drama. Afterall, when it’s this much fun, it can’t be wrong. Can it?
By the way, tonight we’re going to get together to record our 2nd track. There may be some additions to it. Hope you enjoy it.
Sincerely,
Kermit the Frog
Ok, just getting in from a long night at the LoveShack. We actually recorded tonight. We decided to go for a short and easy one to get started to work out any issues we may have. We did “How to Hide an Unwanted Erection.” We have the entire track finished (except mixing) done. We may go back and redo a couple of tracks on it but as a 4 hour run through practice recording, it’s pretty good!
We don’t want to release it to the public just yet though because we haven’t spent much time on the mixing part of it. The levels are off between the instruments/vocals/etc. BUT…for our loyal mailing list subscribers, we’re going to make it available for you guys to critique and tell us what needs work. Just follow the link below. If you’re already on the mailing list, you already have access to the track. If you’re not on the mailing list, simply sign up and it’s there for you. We’re looking forward to hearing what you guys think about it.![]()
Yeah, and we’ve filmed part of the recording for use in an upcoming video. Nice.
